트럼프 ‘칭찬영웅’ 선정 화제

“미국의 제45대 트럼프 대통령이 미국에서도 칭찬영웅(稱讚英雄) 릴레이를 펼치기 바랍니다.”

오는 20일 취임하는 미국의 새 대통령 도날드 트럼프를 한국의 단체가 ‘칭찬영웅(Praise Hero Relay)’으로 선정하고 인증서를 미국에 보내 화제가 되고 있다.

김종선 나실련(56 나부터개혁실천세계연합) 회장은 5일 “지난해 연말 미국 방문 기간중 트럼프 대통령 당선자에게 ‘칭찬영웅’ 인증서와 함께 칭찬 릴레이 운동을 제안했다”고 밝혔다. 김종선 회장은 범국민적인 칭찬운동을 전개하는 ‘칭찬전도사’로 잘 알려진 주인공이다.

김종선 회장은 미 대선에서 트럼프가 최초의 아웃사이더 정치인으로서 승리한 것은 미국민들에게 새로운 희망을 주고 있기때문이라고 평가했다. 그는 “트럼프는 남들에게 잘 보이기 위한 공약을 내걸지 않았고 부패(腐敗)한 월가 큰손들로부터 일체의 도움을 받지 않고 깨끗한 캠페인을 펼쳤다. 그의 승리 과정은 칭찬받아 마땅하다”고 지적했다.

김종선 회장은 “미국에 체류하며 사람들을 만나보고 트럼프에 대해 잘못 알려진 것이 많다는 생각이 들었다. 공화당의 한인관계자들은 트럼프가 취임하면 한미관계가 더 나아질 수도 있다고 확신을 하더라”고 전했다.

김종선 회장은 2015년 11월 버락 오바마 대통령을 ‘칭찬영웅(Praise Hero)’ 1호로 선정하고 인증서를 백악관에 보내 화제를 모았다. 오바마가 미국 최초의 유색인종 대통령으로 세계 평화와 인권 신장을 위해 노력했고 한국인의 교육열과 효도문화, 태권도 세계화 등에 찬사를 보낸 것을 공적(功績) 사유로 평가했다.

또 같은 해 12월엔 한국인 최초의 유엔 사무총장 반기문 총장에게 ‘칭찬영웅’ 2호 인증서를 전달한 바 있다.

이같은 ‘칭찬영웅’들을 선정하면서 나실련은 한국과 미국을 중심으로 ‘칭찬문화’를 국제적으로 확산시키겠다는 프로젝트를 진행하고 있다. 김종선 회장이 연말 뉴욕에 온 것도 트럼프에게 칭찬영웅 선정을 계기로 ‘칭찬영웅 릴레이’를 공식화하기 위해서였다.

‘트럼프 칭찬영웅 릴레이’ 인증서에서 나실련은 “위대한 미국의 정신을 다시 회복한다는 트럼프의 약속(約束)은 미국은 물론, 인류에게도 희망을 주는 것”이라며 “뉴욕시에 ‘칭찬신문명 창조센터’를 건설하여 한국과의 교류를 통해 동양과 서양의 장점을 합치고 미국에 칭찬 문화를 확산시키는 위대한 지도자가 되어달라”고 주문했다.

칭찬영웅 인증서는 공화당 관계자를 통해 취임식에 즈음해 전달될 것으로 알려졌다. 이와 함께 칭창영웅 릴레이의 취지를 위해 다음 후보를 추천해 줄 것을 요청했다.

김종선 회장의 칭찬영웅 릴레이 운동은 미 주류사회에서도 신선한 반응을 얻고 있다. 뉴욕 방문 당시 찰스 랭글 연방하원의원과 뉴저지 팰리세이즈팍의 제임스 로툰도 시장은 김 회장의 칭찬캠페인을 너무나 훌륭한 문화운동이라고 격려하며 각각 감사장을 수여하기도 했다.

한국과 미국을 연계한 칭찬캠페인은 이미 많은 이들의 호응을 얻고 있다. 한국에선 국민의당 정동영 의원을 비롯, 유성엽 의원(국민의당) 정병국 개혁보수신당 창당준비위원장, 이창희 경남 진주시장 등 많은 정치인들의 지지를 얻고 있고 방미 직전엔 정세균 국회의장과 면담해 격려를 받았다.

뉴욕에서도 그를 후원하는 인사들이 적지 않다. 임마철 전 뉴욕경제인협회 회장을 비롯, 전병관 전 뉴욕한인회 이사장, 김민선 뉴욕한인회장 등이 대표적이다. 잉글우드 클립스의 박명근 시의원(공화당)도 트럼프 후보의 칭찬영웅 릴레이가 성공할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다고 약속했다는 후문이다.

김종선 회장이 칭찬 운동을 전개한 것은 벌써 33년에 이르고 있다. MBC '칭찬합시다'의 제안자이자 글로벌인류혁신 칭찬문화운동가로 활동하는 그는 “남을 모함(謀陷)하고 음해(陰害)하는 것을 중증의 한국병으로 진단하고 하루 3번 칭찬하는 운동을 통해 한국병을 치유할 수 있다”고 말한다.

그는 “저의 꿈은 칭찬으로 하나되는 지구촌을 만들어 위대한 한민족이 세계 인류를 구원하도록 하는 것”이라고 말한다. 이른바 ‘칭찬홍익 신문명’을 창조하면 여기서 파생되는 칭찬보험 등 융복합상품들의 사회적 생산성을 파격적으로 늘릴 수 있다는 것이다.

김종선 회장은 “널리 세상을 이롭게 하는 홍익인간의 수단이 바로 칭찬이다. 칭찬의 논리로 세계를 평화롭게 만들고 인류의 미래를 위한 디지털 대통합 칭찬 지식경제 벨트를 우리 한민족이 해낼 수 있다”고 강조했다.

"May the 45th President of the United States of America hold a praise hero (稱讚英雄) relay in the United States as well."

The new U.S. president, Donald Trump, who will take office on the 20th, has been selected as a "Praise Hero Relay" by a South Korean organization and sent the certificate to the U.S.

"During my visit to the U.S. at the end of last year, I proposed a praise relay campaign with a certificate of 'Compliment Hero' to President-elect Trump," said Na Sil-ryeon, chairman of the International Coalition for Reform. Kim Chong-sun is a well-known "praise evangelist" who is launching a nationwide praise campaign.

Chairman Kim Chong-sun said that Trump's victory as the first outsider politician in the U.S. presidential election is because he is giving new hope to the American people. "Trump did not make election pledges to look good to others and campaigned cleanly without getting any help from corrupt Wall Street bigwigs. His victory process deserves praise," he said.

Chairman Kim Chong-sun said, "I thought that there were many misinformation about Trump while staying in the U.S. and meeting people. Korean officials in the Republican Party are convinced that the Korea-U.S. relationship could be better if Trump takes office."

Chairman Kim Chong-sun selected President Barack Obama as the "Praise Hero" in November 2015 and sent the certificate to the White House, drawing keen attention from the public. As the first president of color in the U.S., Obama made efforts to promote world peace and human rights, and praised Koreans for their passion for education, filial piety culture, and globalization of Taekwondo as a public (功績) reason.

In December of the same year, the second certificate of "Praise Hero" was delivered to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the first Korean to do so.

In selecting such "praise heroes," Nasilyeon is working on a project to spread "praise culture" internationally, mainly in Korea and the United States. Chairman Kim Jong-sun came to New York at the end of the year in order to officially announce the "Praise Hero Relay" after Trump was selected as a praise hero.

In the "Trump Praise Hero Relay" certificate, Na Sil-ryeon said, "Trump's promise (約束) to restore the great American spirit gives hope not only to the U.S. but also to humanity," and added, "Building a 'Compliment Newspaper Creation Center' in New York City to become a great leader who combines the strengths of the East and the West and spreads praise culture to the U.S. through exchanges with Korea."

The certificate of "Compliment Hero" will reportedly be delivered to Republican officials around the inauguration ceremony. At the same time, he requested that the following candidates be recommended for the purpose of the "Chingchang Hero" relay.

Chairman Kim Chong-sun's praise hero relay movement is receiving fresh responses from mainstream U.S. society as well. During his visit to New York, U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel and Mayor James Rotundo of Palisades Park, New Jersey, encouraged Kim's praise campaign as an "excellent cultural movement" and presented letters of appreciation, respectively.

The praise campaign linking Korea and the U.S. is already gaining positive responses from many people. In Korea, Chung Dong-young of the People's Party, Yoo Seong-yeop, chairman of the People's Party's New Reform and Conservative Party, and Lee Chang-hee, mayor of Jinju City in South Gyeongsang Province, are enjoying support from many politicians, and he met with National Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun right before his visit to the U.S.

Many New Yorkers are supporting him. Some of them include Lim Ma-cheol, former chairman of the New York Business Association, Jeon Byeong-kwan, former chairman of the New York Korean Association, and Kim Min-sun, chairman of the New York Korean Association. Park Myung-geun, a Republican city councilor at Inglewood Clips, is also said to have promised to do his best to help Trump's "comment hero relay" succeed.

It has been 33 years since Chairman Kim Chong-sun launched a praise campaign. "We can heal Korean diseases by diagnosing framing (謀陷) and degradation (陰害) as severe Korean diseases and praising them three times a day," said Kim Jong-sun, a cultural activist who is also a proponent of MBC's "Let's Compliment."

"My dream is to create a global community united by praise so that the great Korean people can save the world's humanity," he says. By creating the so-called "Praise Hongik Newspaper Name," the social productivity of convergence products such as praise insurance derived from it can be dramatically increased.

Chairman Kim Chong-sun emphasized, "Compliments are the means of Hongik people that benefit the world widely. With the logic of praise, we can make the world peaceful and achieve the digital grand unity praise for the future of mankind, and the knowledge economy belt."
