미국이 러시아와 중국이 함께 제안한 유엔 안전보장이사회의 한반도 문제 해결 과정 지지 성명 초안(草案)을 거부했다고 유엔 주재 러시아 대표부가 밝혔다.
15일 타스통신에 따르면 러시아 대표부 대변인은 "안보리 이사국들의 아무런 논의도 없이 러-중이 제안한 성명 초안에 대한 검토를 거부한 미국의 결정은 최근 남북한 화해와 관련한 워싱턴 당국의 진의(眞意)에 의문을 갖게 한다"고 지적했다.
대변인은 러-중 제안은 최근 남북한 및 북미 정상회담 개최 합의 등 한반도 문제 해결 진전을 지지하는 데 초점이 맞춰져 있다고 설명했다.
그는 성명 초안은 한반도 상황 전개에서 나타난 중요하고 긍정적인 움직임을 언급하면서 남북한 간 대화 재개를 환영하고 트럼프 미국 대통령과 김정은 북한 위원장 간의 5월 정상회담 개최를 지지한다는 내용을 담고 있다고 전했다.
초안에는 또한 한반도와 주변 지역의 긴장완화(緊張緩和)를 위한 구체적 조치 채택의 중요성을 강조 하는 내용도 담긴 것으로 전해진다.
